Fueling Alternatives – Vehicle Purchasing Incentives

A total of $1.8 million was appropriated and directed toward vehicle incentive rebates to promote the use and production of alternative fuel vehicles.

Rebates of up to $5,000 are available for consumers who purchase or lease new eligible alternative fuel vehicles between May 24, 2007 and March 31, 2009 or until funding runs out*. Applicant and vehicle eligibility requirements are specified in the CARB Alternative Fuel Vehicle Incentive Program (AFVIP) guidelines (Guidelines).
